LOVE IS IN THE AIR!! It's hard to believe January has come and gone! DAC is so excited for all the amazing students, awesome parents and adventures coming up this semester.

GREAT New Classes added to the schedule and some exciting new instructors to our family.

Ballroom is back at DAC with the amazing Brittany Warner. She has so much energy and lots of plans for the students this semester. Friday nights at 6pm!

Tumbling with Robbie Reep on Tuesday 7pm and Friday at 7pm. So excited to have him on board with us!

Mini Hip Hop class TIME CHANGE will now be at 5pm-545pm

Jr Hip Hop class TIME CHANGE will now be at 545pmm-645pm

 

We will be holding a 12 Hour Dance-A-Thon! MARCH 2nd & 3rd from 6pm-6am, this is a fundraiser for the Relay for Life as well as some of our families fighting this horrible disease. Sponsor sheets will be sent home with the students shortly.

JUMP ON TOUR DANCE CONVENTION is coming soon APRIL 27TH & 28TH in Salt Lake City. Yet another INCREDIBLE experience for all dancers! We will be dancing for two full days with some of the worlds best choreographers. DAC would love to see as many of you join us on another wild adventure. Convention fee is due March 25^th.

Under the Big Top- A Dance Production will be our next show for all dancers/all classes: We will begin choreography this month.

Dance Shoes: our little trade program we have at our studio has been a HUGE success. Please bring in old dance shoes to keep this going. Lost and Found we have a ton of stuff in our lost and found, please remember to look through it.

 

 

Musical Theater:

Congratulations to the awesome cast of "Nemo and Friends- The Musical Mashup!" Auditions rocked and we are so proud of all the kids! They are all so talented! The cast list is up on the website. All students should have come home with a script and their lyrics. (They will be receiving cds this week!) Parents please make sure they put their script/lyrics in a folder with a pencil, and bring it to class everyday. Students will be learning choreography, we will email the link for the kids to watch it throughout the week on Youtube. Please make sure they go over their lines, lyrics, and music everyday. The weekly "update" emails for parents will be sent starting this week. As a reminder, no jeans, bring water, and remember it's all about having fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR WELCOME 2012

Welcome back to DAC Winter/Spring semester. Hope everyone had an AMAZING Holiday. Boy do we have a lot in store for you this year! We have lots of exciting productions, conventions and performance opportunities for everyone!

 

We would like to welcome Kristina Harding and Matt Boulton to our musical theater program. Both have years of experience and training and will be great additions to our studio!

 

Our productions this semester are one of a kind! Musical Theater Students will be doing “Nemo and Friends” and the dance program “Under The Big Top."

All students will participate in the shows at the end of the semester. Just a reminder there is NEVER a costume fee here at DAC!

NEW CLASSES with Reema  "Yoga 101" or "Gentle Flow Yoga" -- This all-levels class is designed for the beginner, or for the existing Yoga student who prefers a more gentle practice. No experience necessary. Please bring a Yoga mat or large towel, and water.

"Yoga Fusion" -- This class is designed for those who prefer a flow practice that weaves together classical Yoga postures (asanas) and Pilates-derived mat exercises for a lengthening, strengthening experience. Please bring a Yoga mat or large towel, and water.

 

BALLROOM IS BACK: Brittany Warner joins our family this semester with a GREAT background and 10years of training

DANCER'S please come to class prepared with proper dance attire, hair out of face and ready to work hard! You cab expect another crazy hard push this semester.

BRING A FRIEND WEEK JAN 9TH-20TH: Invite your friends to come join us for the week to any and all classes. We will be doing a referral/discount for new friends who register.

 

Dancer's will have the opportunity to attend various dance conventions this year. It is a phenomenal experience to dance with some of the greatest teachers and choreographers and create a lifetime of memories. Please check the website for convention information. 

Dance Shoes: our little trade program  we have at our studio has been a HUGE success. Please bring in old dance shoes to keep this going.

Lost and Found We will have all lost and found items in each studio. Please label all dance shoes with students name.

Musical Theater:

We are so excited for our fun production of "Nemo and Friends." Written and produced by Brianna Rosia.

Students will learn all aspects of the theater and the production process: blocking, vocal, choreography, costumes and props, etc.

Marie will focus on acting and characterization. Kristina will work on vocal technique, projection, etc. 

YouTube links will be sent via email with breakdowns of choreography. Each students should watch these as many times as possible! It helps tremendously!

Students will be sent home with a script and a music CD. Script along with a pencil and water should be brought to every class..

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM DAC

DECEMBER: We are now nearing the end of our Fall Semester. Phew! What a crazy five months! We loved watching the kids perform at; Swiss Days, Taste of Dixie, Thriller Pre Show, Staheli Family Farm, Kids in the Round Fundraiser, Jubilee of Trees, The Pulse on Tour in Las Vegas, and the Dickens Festival! Next semester we will slow it down and work for our big dance production, “Under the Big Top!” and our musical theater production, “Nemo and Friends-The Musical Mashup!” We would love to take the time to thank our amazing students, parents, and staff for such a great few months! The students progression was fantastic in all ages and classes! We are so proud of you! We have made some unforgettable memories with our community performances, master classes, and trips. Thank you thank you! We can’t wait to see you this spring!

Pulse Dance ConventionCongratulations to all the dancers, teachers, and parent’s for a fantastic weekend at the Pulse in Las Vegas! Special Congrats to; Mykol Clark who received a Stage Presence Award at Camp Pulse!, Caye Clark who received a scholarship for the 2012-2013 Pulse Convention, Tino Smith for getting chosen to perform in the Fashion Show at the showcase, all the Ghost dancers who performed in the showcase and auditioned for America’s Got Talent and Nickelodeon, and Marco Perez who got to bboy with the Jabbawockeez!

HELLO NOVEMBER

November came way to fast, time flies when you're working and having fun as hard as these students. Their progression so far is incredible, all ages and classes. So fun to see and they do it with the biggest smile on their faces!! SO grateful to have our amazing staff, students and parents at the studio. Many thanks to all.

October has been such a busy month! DAC students have been performing all over Washington County. Special Thanks to Staheli Farms for having us out there this year.

Some of DAC's dancers also performaned at Tuacahn's Thriller opening night! They did a KILLER JOB

FILM Festival Absolutely beyond proud of students who were involved in the Guerrilla Film Festival. Camrie, Emma, Marco and Sierra way to go on your 1^st choreography piece. To all of our little hip hoppers, way to rock!!

Payson High School Dance Company came to St George this month for a Master Class with Maria and Brittany! We had such a BLAST with these girl, great talent and amazing personalities! Thanks Girls








 

DAC's 1st Halloween Party was a success, thank you for joining us in the fun! Jamie Jones Tyler and Malika Warren did such an AMAZING Job decorating and getting treat ready! Thank you for always being there.

The Pulse on Tour is coming soon Nov 19^th & 20^th going to be an INCREDIBLE experience! Dancing two full days with some of the worlds best choreographers. DAC is bringing 13 students this year ages 9-20. We are going to be performing Ghost in the Showcase Performance on the night of the 19th, with a Rep from AGT on the judges panel.

Musical Theater:
We are getting very close to the Performance, time to kick it up a notch or two!!
All blocking, learning songs, choreography, etc...is almost done. Cast should all be off book, please help your child read/learn lines on a daily basis. We will continue to work with the kids to learn characterization so they can really become their character. YouTube links have been sent via email with breakdowns of choreography, this should be extremely helpful in practicing. Please let us know if need further video's.

SPOOKTACULAR MONTH

Seeming as though Oct is almost done I had to post about DAC's happenings. Couldn't be more proud of all the students, dancers and musical theater kids! Way to get out there in the community and give it your all.

We have done several performances at Stahlie Farms on Saturday's this month. With just a few numbers from both Musical Theater and Dancers the crowd has absolutely loved what we showed. At the end of each perfromance we gathered all the kids in the audience and had them join us on stage for a Demonstartion class. Huge Hit!!

Taste of Dixie Performance was incredible. They have all worked so hard and it is really paying off. Performing their hearts out.

DAC dancers opened pre-show for Tuacahn's Thriller, out of this world. Seriously blew people away, with our Witches, Mummy's and Most of all Ghost and B-Boy/Girl numbers.

We  have one last performance this month at the farm! All students are invited to join us and have a  hollowing time! We are going to add the mini and jr hip hop to this performance on top of the older kids dance munbers!!

Sat Oct 29th DAC is having our first full studio Halloween Party! Going to be a blast. Starts at 5pm. Lots of fun games, contest, dancing (of course) and best of all spooky yummy treats. $2 per person or bring a dish to share as your enterance fee!!

Oct 31st we will only be holding classes until 5pm that way everyone can go out and enjopy, trick or treat etc....

STAHELI FARM PERFORMANCES: Thank you to all students who were able to come out for their opening Fall event, it was a little on the crazy side, small rough stage, change in show order, but they performed their hearts out and BIG smiles on their faces!

Oct 15^th & 22^nd All Musical Theater students and DAC dancers (age 3-10) will perform at 4:30pm call time 4pm dressed and ready to go.

Oct 15^th, 22^nd & 28^th DAC Dancers who are in Ghost and Mummy dances will perform at 8pm those nights, call 7:30

BRING A FRIEND WEEK extended through end of semester. Friends are invited to come throughout that whole week to any dance classes for FREE!!

Please remember to ALWAYS BRING YOUR SCRIPTS dress comfortable (no jeans or flip flops,bring water, snack, pencil, and a smile!

A Script and CD with the Show music has been sent home with the kids please encourage them to listen to it regularly and practice choreography.

We seem to be struggling with remembering vocal and choreography. NEW APPROACH Each class we will video all new material and send via email on a secure youtube account. Very important for them to be able to watch quite a bit throughout the week

Alvin and the Chipettes is going to be a Fabulous show with hard work, practice and their AMAZING ENERGY it will blow you away!
